Performance: Making Terasology Shine Brighter

Our core gameplay as the fundamental proof of concept for our engine and core module functionality will act as our testing grounds for performance investigations. In the past we time and time again faced excessive resource consumption and lag situations even for gameplays with few modules. The noticeable difference between singleplayer and (even local) multiplayer setups are a big concern.

Help Wanted!

We’re looking for contributors with experience in measuring and debugging Java performance issues to identify problematic hotspots in our codebase. Furthermore, we need contributors that are capable of understanding the codebase including the involved architecture, logic, and patterns, to develop improvement approaches without sacrificing readability and simplicity.
