Rendering Overhaul: One Step at a Time
So far, the proof of concept (PoC) for our rendering overhaul can already start the Terasology menu without evaluating any OpenGL code. After making sure that this current state is reproducible on all machines, we'll continue to evolve it. The next step on the path to enhancing the technical foundation underneath the wonderful optics of Terasology worlds is to be able to start a game (world), equally without evaluating any OpenGL code.
We’re looking for new contributors with existing rendering expertise eager to get their hands dirty with wgpu to replace the current OpenGL rendering logic.
